Growing up, my mom used to make me cinnamon toast with butter for breakfast. It was my FAVORITE! I don’t know why I stopped eating it or at least make it myself! It was a genius recipe.
What I didn’t know at the time was that cinnamon is actually loaded with antioxidants.
It has high anti-inflammatory properties that help your body fight infections and repair tissue damage.
It’s been linked in to a reduced risk of heart disease.
In people with type 2 diabetes, like myself, 1 gram or about half a teaspoon of cinnamon per day has been shown to have beneficial effects on blood glucose levels.
It also reduces levels of total cholesterol and triglycerides — bad ones, at that.
On what foods or drinks do you like to sprinkle cinnamon on? I like it in my stress-relieving tea and on my toast. YUM! 🍞🍵😋
Let me know in the comments what YOU like to put cinnamon on!
